Kuching, Sarawak – Malaysia. October 17 -24, 2026
This session, organized by ISCCL in collaboration with
ICTC, ICOFORT and ICOMOS Japan, seeks to explore how integrated, systems-based approaches can advance more inclusive understandings and practices of heritage.
Contributions are encouraged that engage with cultural landscapes, fortifications, ecological systems, community knowledge, and the intersections between nature and culture.
We particularly welcome abstracts that:
- Reflect on heritage as interconnected ecological and cultural systems
- Address inclusive and community-based approaches
- Explore practical or theoretical frameworks for systems thinking in heritage
- Engage with case studies across diverse landscapes and contexts
